Mary Beth Lovin, Ph.D
Dr. Lovin serves as Laboratory Director of LJP Lab.
Dr. Lovin spent most of her career in academics including Wake Forest University (WFU) Medical School, WFU and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). She has worked in clinical toxicology for the past three years. She helped start three toxicology laboratories. She is certified by the National Registry of Certified Chemists as a Toxicological Chemist. She is currently the LC-MS laboratory manager at Bethany Medical Center.
Dr. Lovin received a BA from Davidson College, An MA from UNCG and a PhD from Wake Forest University. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in analytical chemistry at UNCG.
Mr. Darrell Terry serves as Laboratory Manager of LJP Lab.
Mr. Terry possesses 28 years of extensive clinical laboratory knowledge and experience. He is an ASCP board registered Medical Technologist and has served in the supervising and managing roles of laboratories throughout the US, Germany and Italy. He served 13 years supervising and managing Microbiology, Blood Bank and Multi-Specialty laboratories while serving in the United States Air Force. During this time he honorably served in roles that were directly dedicated to Presidential Support in Washington DC and the Pentagon. Darrell completed multiple deployments into European and Middle-Eastern theaters in support of several foreign military campaigns.
Mr. Terry studied Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science and Cellular/Molecular Biology at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Community College of the Air Force, Eastern New Mexico University and University of Cincinnati. After an honorable and heavily decorated service in the USAF, Mr. Terry worked in and managed general laboratories, cancer centers, reference labs and medical centers. He currently manages 16 employees in a fast paced high complexity laboratory providing 32 providers with more than 3300 diagnostic tests daily. Mr. Terry has an extremely high understanding of lab management including personnel, lab function, test coding, medical insurance billing, facility, state and federal regulations. He understands the in depth business model, practice and structure of external reference laboratory processes and integration, having worked for Solstas (Quest) for six years. Mr. Terry was solely instrumental in the massive lab expansion/relocation project, which included the planning, building and managing of three COLA/CLIA certified laboratories within the past three years.
