Testing Services

Urine Drug Testing Immunoassay screens and LC/MS/MS Drug Confirmation testing detect a wide range of prescription drugs, illicit drugs, and alcohol in urine. We offer qualitative immunoassay screens and confirmatory testing at our facility, enabling us to produce quality, precise and accurate analysis within 24 to 72 hours from receipt of the specimen. Our goal is to provide results that are legally defensible and medically diagnostic so practitioners and clients can make informed decisions quickly and reliably.

Urine Drug testing (UDT) is a valuable tool for prescription and illicit drug detection. Routine drug testing improves therapy management of prescription drugs, assists in the detection of prescription drug misuse, illicit drug usage and/or addiction.

Drug abuse in the workplace puts employers at a risk for increased accidents, more absenteeism, lower productivity and higher insurance costs. Urine testing, like all drug testing methodologies, helps to mitigate these risks by filtering out drug users from an employer’s workforce as well as deterring drug use within it. We can customize screening and comprehensive testing menus for health care professionals, employers, treatment centers, law enforcement divisions, psychiatric and rehabilitation facilities with various testing options.

Businesses drug test their applicants and employees to minimize their exposure to the risks of workforce drug use. While all drug test specimen types-urine, oral fluid and hair-have their advantages, urine drug testing is by far the most flexible and customization. With hundreds of different combinations of illicit and other commonly abused drugs, order codes and cutoff levels, there’s a urine drug test panel for almost any testing reason.

Urine testing is an ideal solution for every testing reason including pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty and follow-up testing. Businesses rely on laboratory based urine testing for its cost-effectiveness, capacity to screen for a wide variety of drug substances. Both illicit and prescribed (i.e. prescription drugs, for which their use or misuse could impact workplace safety).

LJP Lab utilizes the most sophisticated and sensitive technology available. Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) offers today’s best and most accurate urine testing lab results. It is a confirmatory technique that allows a laboratory to confidently identify and quantify a range of compounds. Unlike point of care urine cups or immunoassay screening techniques, the LC-MS/MS allows for determination of a specific compound. It combines the advantages of two complementary techniques; Liquid Chromatography and Tandem Mass Spectrometry techniques. High-performance liquid chromatography fractionates the sample to individual analytes while tandem mass spectrometry quantities the analytes.

The fractioning phase is a critical factor to the method’s excellent analytical specificity. Beyond the regulatory necessity, doctors improve patient care by analyzing urinary drug concentrations. Close monitoring of urinary drug concentrations allows regulation of dosing regiments to show the varying metabolic rates on the particular patient, thus improving and personalizing care.

For most drugs, the limits of detection (cutoff levels) using the LC-MS/MS will identify drug use for at least several days after last use. This may be extended further when metabolites are also monitored.

Confirmatory drug tests for the non-negative specimens are performed with Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS) methodology. This instrument is capable of specifically identifying and distinguishing the drug or drug metabolite from other compounds that might be present in the specimen. At the same time, they can accurately measure the concentration of the target compound.

While we specialize in drug urinalysis testing, we are able to complete nearly any clinical or toxicological test. Do not hesitate to contact us directly with any questions regarding our provided services. We would be happy to complete an individualized assessment of your company’s needs.
